The Ultimate Fighting Championship has set Toronto ablaze. The promotion’s international growth can be witnessed as the organization sold out the UFC 129 event in under an hour. Tickets were made available for UFC 129 this past Saturday and were completely gone before the end of the day.
Headlined by fan favorite Georges St. Pierre as he faces Jake Shields for the welterweight title, UFC President Dana White has stated that this will be the largest North American Mixed Martial Arts event to date.
Ticket were first made available to members of the exclusive UFC Fight Club. Those tickets were gone by the end of the day. To accommodate additional fans who wanted to attend the event, the Rogers Centre opened up an additional 13,000 seats on Saturday. Those seats were also gone before the end of the business day.
The April 30th event is also expected to feature Randy Couture versus Lyoto Machida; the UFC debut of Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo as he defends against Mark Hominick and a number of great matchups.
