The Ultimate Fighting Championship will return to pay-per-view tomorrow night for UFC 159. The card is headlined by the UFC light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and the challenger, Chael Sonnen. Also on the card are fights between Michael Bisping and Alan Belcher, Phil Davis and Vinny Magalhaes, and Cheick Kongo and Roy Nelson.

With only a day left until the big day, who do the odds makers favor and who does MMA Zone think will walk away the winner?

ufc-159Jon Jones -925 vs. Chael Sonnen +725

Sonnen did a wonderful job of talking his way into another title shot, but this could the last title fight he gets in the UFC if he loses. After losing twice to Anderson Silva in the middleweight division, a loss to Jones for the light heavyweight title could be the last shot he gets.

MMA Zone Prediction: Jon Jones gets the TKO win in the second round to retain the UFC light heavyweight title.

Michael Bisping -170 vs. Alan Belcher +160

Each time Bisping is in a position to earn a title shot, he loses. It happened at UFC 100 when Dan Henderson knocked him out. It happened again at UFC on Fox 2 when Sonnen stole the unanimous decision victory in a fight I thought Bisping won. Most recently, it happened at UFC on FX 7 when Vitor Belfort got the TKO win. UFC 159 will be his first time returning to the Octagon after the Belfort loss, so we will have to see how he fares.

MMA Zone Prediction: Michael Bisping gets back into the win column with a decision victory.

Phil Davis -315 vs. Vinny Magalhaes +285

The 10-1 Davis is favored in this fight against the 10-5 Magalhaes. If the odds were closer, I wouldn’t think the odds makers were crazy. Magalhaes uses Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to control opponents, but has struggled in the past against wrestlers with solid striking. Davis has world-class wrestling skills, but doesn’t have the striking skills that Ryan Bader displayed against the Brazilian in “The Ultimate Fighter” finale.

MMA Zone Prediction: Vinny Magalhaes gets the submission victory in the second round from his back.

Roy Nelson -235 vs. Cheick Kongo +215

After being shocked by Mark Hunt at UFC 144, Kongo recovered by getting the unanimous decision win against Shawn Jordan. When he competes against the best fighters in the division, he loses. In Nelson, he is facing a top-10 fighter. Nelson has won two straight after losing to Fabricio Werdum at UFC 143 and is looking to work his way up the rankings further with a victory at UFC 159.

MMA Zone Prediction: Roy Nelson dominates the fight and despite Kongo having improved striking skills, wins via KO in the third round.
