Nice post, that was a very informative article. Thanks for discussing it and and posting it where a lot of people can read. Otherwise, the sport will never be known and understood if it is kept in the gym only.

Martial arts is a very popular sport because it is patronized by many people for their own purposes. But what is really in it for martial arts? For me, it is not just the fight scenes that interest me, it is the lesson that is learned. I am proud that I have with me a discipline that will never disappear.

Hand to hand martial can really be tough, and dangerous because the hand is not as big as the feet. But watching it amazes me. Not many many people can join this kind of sport and so it is fun and exciting.

Dude - thank you.

"Every exercise or drill should be done at maximum intensity so that when you finally crawl out of class you have nothing left."

Everybody thinks I'm f-cking nuts! I tell them I never take it easy, and they think I'm not training properly. They think I should practice easily, and build it up over a certain amount of time, but if I did that then I would be training for some sort of marathon... I'm expecting to give everything I have into a real fight.

And it's also a lot better for training, anyways. You get a lot stronger than if you slack off.

It depends how many people you're against, and where you are. If you're against 3-5 people, and they're sitting down at a table, then a roundhouse could take a few of them out all at once.

If you're on the sidewalk, or the road, then it's best if you keep your kicks low and fast.

I also think if you're really good at kicks, and you can deliver one and recover quickly then you can hit the back of their head when they try kicking you.

Which also reminds me, if they kick you, then you give give them a counter-kick.

Take It Easy, Thacker
